4. Kids Self-Defence Training
About Course
Parents usually bring a child to us for one of two reasons: the child is being troubled at school, or the child cannot sit still and finish anything. This course helps with both, but not in the way people expect. Children do not become safer because they learn to hit. They become safer because they learn to notice, to stand differently, and to speak up.
What children actually learn
- Awareness before technique — how to spot a situation turning bad and leave before it does. This is the first lesson, not the last.
- Voice — how to say no loudly, attract adult attention, and tell a trusted adult afterwards. Children who freeze are children who were never taught they are allowed to make noise.
- Escape skills — breaking a wrist grab, getting free of a hold, creating distance and running. Simple, drilled until it is automatic.
- Balance and coordination — through games and movement drills, not drills that feel like punishment.
- Focus and concentration — the traditional discipline of the training hall, which many parents notice at home and in schoolwork within a few weeks.
How we keep it safe
No varmam point striking is taught to children. Contact drills are controlled and supervised, children are paired by size and age, and instructors watch every pair. Sessions are structured so that a six-year-old and an eleven-year-old are both stretched without either being overwhelmed.
We are also clear with children about the rule that matters most: what you learn here is for protecting yourself and others, never for starting something. A child who uses it to bully loses their place in the class.
What parents should expect
Progress in children is uneven. Some are confident in three weeks; others take the full three months to raise their voice in a drill. Both are normal. You are welcome to watch sessions, and instructors will tell you honestly how your child is doing rather than what you want to hear.
